I'm a little late getting into this subject, but does anyone have an
idea about the meaning (if any) of the word "Voulte" as in the town of
La Voulte on the Rhone River. I can not find the word in my Larousse
French-English dictionary and wonder if some dictionary of "old French"
might have a clue.
We hear so much about other areas, such as La Rochelle, that I was
surprised to learn the La Voulte area was a "hot bed" of the reform.
I have ancestors from both La Voulte and La Rochelle.
