Hi Toni,
Do you see anything for my 8th Great Grandfather Rev. Paul L'ESCOT/ESCOT/LESCOT
born 1675 in Bergerac (his wife was Mary Frances NETTLES). Strangely, many
names in the Bergerac Huguenot registers have English spellings, so Paul may
indeed be his original name. He was a pastor of the French Huguenot Church
in Charleston, SC, USA, but, then went back to England. However, according
to "The Huguenots of Colonial South Carolina," Chapter III Page 58, "In 1731
the London Walloon Church received a letter from the Charles Town French
Church asking for a minister. ... It seems that soon after this Paul L'Escot
returned to Carolina."
