Tony, and Others,
I need to research Jacques Brousse in Cognac en Xaintonge, where he was born. He and his wife, Sara Cornu, were married in London, in La Patente Church, Spittlefields. Sara must have died in London, and was born in Taillebourg, France. How do you suggest I search for them in France?
Thank you for your help!
Linda

Subject: [Huguenot] Protestants in Touraine (the area around Tours, France)
Hi folks
Now I'm happily ensconced in France, I'm getting into the genealogical magazines. One of the mags 'La revue francaise de Genealogie' carries a monthly advertisement for a discount publishing/book clearance house in Paris which specialises in genealogical material.
Three interesting publications, which I've managed to get copies of:
Les Protestantes en Touraine, Tome V, M a Q (a part study - see below)
Protestants et catholiques en Allemagne, 1648 - 1806 (a study of the Augsburg area)
Les Etrangers en France, XVIe siecle-1789 ( a report on archive material in the French National Archives about coming and goings of Catholics and others during that period)
The Touraine material is really interesting, lots of family information, this is one of 8 small volumes (6 are E12.50 the others E21.50 & E19.00) available from Centre Genealogique de Touraine, 11bis, rue des Tanneurs, 3700, Tours, France. Don't know the conversion rates but anybody interested outside France will have to Google and then contact the Centre direct.
Discount warehouse is:
Les Editions SWIC, 233 Rue Sainte-Honore, 75 001, Paris.
And the prices you pay are 25% under the list price per book.
Regards
Tony Fuller
