I will give you the two instances I have....one is not related to me and so
may be of more interest to you since it is a male....From ABSTRACTS OF THE
WILLS OF EDGECOMBE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA, 1733 - 1856, by Ruth Smith
Williams and Margareet Glenn Griffin, page 132. "FOUNTAIN, JAMES may 1,
1824 , may Ct 1824, Bk.F, p.19 estate left to children of Henry Adams:
Mames, Margaret, Alexander and Martha Ann Adams. Gnd of Chil: Richmond
Dozier, Exr: Figures Phillips. Wit. John Pope, Henry Adams" These were
the chidlren of Nancy Fountain Adams; daughter of John Fountain, Jr..

The second is a member of the Dozier family who married into the Byrd
Family.

I have no imformation on her but was not really looking for it since it is
not in direct line for me.

Adelaide Dozier married Dr. Harvey Leonidus Byrd (He was my great
grandmothers brother)
on Oct. 31, 1844. She died and he married again but he left children from
the first marriage.
He studied medicine in Philadelphia and practiced in Savannah GA...He was a
professor of Medicine at Baltimore and Oglethorpe Univ. in 1856 He taught
two of his brothers medicine in Charleston S.C. After the War of Northern
Agression he moved to New York and lived and practiced there. Richmond Was
probably related to Adalaide for they are all, the Byrds, Fountains,
Doziers, the Adams, Popes. Sorry I don't have more but you might search the
S.C. records through the Darlington Country Historical Assoc. I can find
the address for you if
you want to try. But they don't do much by mail but might help. Also, you
might try to find if
there was a Richmond Dozier listed anywhere in Charleston organizations or
papers.

Sincerely,
Edwin Fountain
