Subject: De Renzi (de Renzy, Derenzy, or Derenzie) Family

Hello,
Is anyone out there researching the De Renzi (de Renzy, Derenzy, or
Derenzie) family of County Wexford? Is this a Huguenot family? The
founder of the family was apparently Sir Mathew de Renzi, a knight, born in
Cologne, Germany, and died in Dublin on 29 August 1634. He might be related
to the Rens family of Antwerp, Belgium, or Cologne, Germany. His
descendants settled in Cloghbamen or Clobemon, County Wexford. The 1630s is
pretty early for a Huguenot in Ireland, but I wonder if this might be the
case. The surname also sounds more Italian than German or French. I would
love to hear from anyone who could point me to some publications and sources
for this family. Thanks.
