Has anyone run across this surname or its variant spellings? Family lore says the original VIVERETTE/VIVRETT was of Huguenot descent. Named Thomas Viverett in early NC records, he married the widow Elizabeth Hickman Dew, sometime after 1770 in Nash County. Three of his sons-Lancelot, Micajah, and James-carry on the family line in America. One source says he may have come from Alencon, France. Another says he was born in Ireland in a Huguenot settlement circa 1750. The Viverette web site is at http://www.angelfire.com/tx3/viverette
