Has anyone seen this name in any research or records? Any comments or suggestions are welcome.
It is my understanding that William Jacob Grammer, born before 1754 in Germany, is of Huguenot origin according to the following:
"The Grammer family is of Huguenot origin, the name having been originally Grammiere. A large fortune in France was due to the representatives of the family in Virginia, by inheritance; but they being prevented from prosecuting the claim by the circumstances of the Revolution, it lasped."
