Bill, my JOHN DUBOIS and family are in the same category as your
"probably-Huguenot" for the same reasons. French surname, Protestant,
right time period. But I don't have even the connection back to France
yet.
If we were limited to "pure" Huguenots--those who can PROVE that they
were French Protestants who left due to religious intolerance--there
would be very few indeed. Especially given the blurred lines that many
left to seek a better life which may have not been solely because of
religious intolerance (the sons who were not the oldest, for example, or
the adventurers, etc.)
Anyway, will be great to have you!!! So far, we'll have enough to fill
a small conference room at a Comfort Inn for a cocktail hour...
