Hi Elaine,
I too am feeling a bit discouraged by the American emphasis of the Hug. list, as
mine came (I think) from Netherland--UK--Ireland--Australia, so perhaps we
should act like two lean-to's and support each other ! I can't help with your
name, except to suggest that Meneer has a distinctly Dutch feel to it.
Have you researched the Huguenot Soc. Publs. for the name ? Where in Ireland did
they come from ? (They're not in my book of Irish Huguenots, but neither are my
Germaines, however their name is a dead giveaway)
Let me know where in Oz you are, maybe you're next door ?
Did you see the replies to my initial cry for help re mailing lists for non-US
Hugs? I've kept them if you're interested.
Regards, Kaye Cole in Melbourne
