Harold,

I've been researching in Theo Kiefner's four volume set of "Die Waldenser
auf ihrem Weg aus dem Val Cluson durch die Schweiz nach Deutschland 1530
-1820/30" (Engl. = The Waldensian on their Way from the Cluson Valley
through Switzerland into Germany 1530 - 1820/30). A copy of these volumes
is in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. It includes references
to a large number of these protestants who went to Brandenburg at the end
of the 1600s. If you can find a copy of this work (and if you can read
German) you may find references to some of your ancestors.

Each of the volumes has an excellent location index and surname index. If
you have some surnames you would like me to look for I'll be happy to see
if they come up in any of the volumes. Volume I covers the time period 1532
to 1730 in the Val Cluson, Volume II from 1685 to 1698 on the way to
Germany, Volume III from 1698 to 1820/30 in Germany. (I happen to have
photocopies of pages from these volumes in my briefcase). I don't recall
what Volume IV covers. I haven't researched in it yet.

BTW, In today's postings Jurgen noted that this author is a member of the
German Huguenot Society and that he provides his address. (THANKS JURGEN!)
I was wondering how I might contact him.
