I never forget looking for BONREPOS when digging into indexes and never
found one until then, but the DIE clue is a nice one!

I hope you are about to experiment, thanks to Yvette, the Joy that
Elizabeth felt some weeks ago. God bless both two nice ladies!

DIE is very close to BOURDEAUX (300 protestant families, 4 catholics) in
which I am so interested. (Madeleine de BOURDEAUX, mother-in-law of our
"emigre", Henri de SAUSSURE Switz.-> S.C. ca 1730)

protestants repartis en huit "colloques" d'importance assez inegale....
Le colloque du Diois couvrait un territoire montagneux, a l'Est de celui
du Valentinois, 17600 protestants y vivaient face a 6 ou 7000
catholiques. La grande Eglise de DIE comptait 4000 protestants, 3
pasteurs et une importante Academie fondee en 1604. La ville de Die avait
ete place de surete jusqu'en 1627...
On estime a plus de 10 000 le nombre des protestants originaires du
Dauphine' qui prirent le chemin du Refuge"

page 308: Musee du Protstantisme Dauphinois in the village of POET-LAVAL,
near DIEULEFIT (DROME), 20 km east of MONTELIMAR. Pasteurs EMILE BRES and
BORIS DECORVET created in 1961 that museum about Protestants in the area
of DIE. PIERRE BOLLE is the "conservateur" (curator?) of that museum.
That museum is intended for people hunting for their roots and has a
library of 2000 books, some of them being very rare. One can find
archives : parish registers, family archives, correspondance, etc.."
