Get caught up: your project is a wonderful idea and I hope that someone
comes along to help edit and index and publish. Don't you dare publish it
w/o an index or you'll never get that invite from here.
The Methodists (those "enthusiasts") were wonderful people: I've got 'em
in my lines and am proud of 'em.
I meant to mention that back in February of 1951, I spent ten days in a
jeep going from Fort Bragg to Camp Hood with a Capt. Russo. He was the
best traveling companion for we'd sneak out of camp each night and he'd
find a greek restaurant in even the smallest towns en route. And he'd jaw
with the proprietors and they'd lay out a feast. He was a NYC boy: had
never been in the country, so far as I could tell. He wanted to chase
every cow we saw, in the jeep. It really was hilarious. I've been trying
to think of his given name and can't nor can I put my hands on anything
from those years, yet, which has his name. We were 82nd Airborne (CIC
Detachment) and only half-hearted soldiers but high on security matters.
