We're visiting London about Nov. 1 for 2-3 days. How can we best see what
still remains of what a Huguenot would have seen in the mid-1700's? Are
there particular museum exhibits not to be missed?
I plan to research at the Huguenot Society if possible. Do they have museum
exhibits?
My DELACHAUX family was represented in christenings and marriages in the
following churches. Are any of them still standing?
How safe is it nowadays to walk where they walked?
1. l'Eglise de Londres, Soho Square (1747)
2. Churches of the Savoy (1737)
3. Stepney St. Mary Whitechapel (1766)
4. St. Botolphe without Aldgate (1735) (Roberson family, probably not
Huguenot)
Sarah Elizabeth ROBERSON, the widow BRITT or BRETT, married Jacob DELACHAUX
in about 1763. In Sarah's will of 1790 in Abbeville, SC she left her
husband her "money in the Bank of England". What does this mean, and are
records still available there?
This DELACHAUX family sailed from London in 1768 on the ship St. Peter.
Where would they have sailed from specifically?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
