I am new to this list and look forward to interesting reading.
I am impressed to note that the discussion is in its 98th volume. Are
previous volumes archived where a newcomer could find them?
I am researching the following names, and would like to hear from
anyone with an overlap:
DuBuisson Fr>NY>Phila>NJ>MS
Lagarenne (LeGrun, Lagruenne, etc.)
DuBois (one particular marriage ca. 1800, probably in NY to one of the
previous two names. Clearly not a misspelling of DuBuisson).
Fermine
I have hit a wall with the birth of three siblings 1805-1810 in or near
NY. They are George Washington DuBuisson, Charles Lagruenne (sp?)
DuBuisson and Fermine A.O. DuBuisson, who married Rev. Robert M. Baird
and was mother of Charles Washington Baird, author of "Huguenot
Emigration to America." Charles, a lawyer, educator and politician,
moved to MS. George, a merchant, was a in the Phila-NJ-NYC area. The
family seems to have had close ties to Philadelphia.
