Dear Sandy,
Do you know if any of your family settled in Germany and if their name was
spelled Döpp? My ancestors were supposedly Huguenots who fled to Bavaria and
changed their name to Döpp (which had been something like "Durougon"). They
came to Buffalo, NY in 1846. In the US, they spelled the name "Doepp." Many of
us have removed the "o" and now spell it "Depp." Does this have any
correlation to your family?
