Looking for any information about this Huguenot family. According to
family letters, Claude BESSONETT was the member of the family who left
France. I have a record of his denization in London in March 1700, but
then he vanishes. The family was reported in New York state in the
early 1700s and also in Middletown and Bristol Borough in Bucks County,
PA. There is a record of the BESSONETT coat of arms in a book about
German heraldry. The family bible was printed in the 1600s in Geneva,
Switzerland (bible was last reported in the possession of John BESSONETT
Jr. in Philadelphia about 1860).
This appears to be a small family, so any information about the name
would be very helpful.
