Hello Jackie

'Hope I can help you, as lots of my fellow Huguenots (as well as gene
bugs in general) have helped me over the years.

Hell all,
Family lore suggest that our DeMasters line (possible spelling
demaistre) are
descended from Huguenots. It was suggested that I join this list in
hopes of
getting info on them and/or Huguenots. I am fairly new to genealogy, so
I
must apologize in advance for any mistakes in advance!
Thank you for any help you can provide!

Here are some Huguenot starting places that will lead you to many
thousands more (these should come through as hyper-links--just click and
go, except, maybe not on AOL):

http://www.huguenot.netnation.com/ancestor/ancestor.htm

http://www.CyndisList.com/huguenot.htm

http://www.server.mediasoft.net/ScottC/Hugu.htm

AOL also has a site, under, if I remember correctly, Forums,
Genealogy,Ethnic,Huguenots.

Now, are you also searching for Family History-Genealogical Information
about your family? If so, you'll want to provide more information in
your postings, example:"Need info on John Q. DeMasters(demaistre), born
about 1877, wife Mary Jones DeMasters, children--Florida, Duval
County"---whatever you've got, much or little. These clues will help us
identify the family you're seeking. For example, if it's "Maistre",
and/or the Anglized version of the Italian (actually Minorcan) name,
i.e. Masters--then there's a wealth of information right here in my home
town(actually in St. Augustine--30 miles south)

Also, check your E's for spelling, etc. before sending.(We know you
meant "Hello").

Be Blessed!
Don
