Well, I am happy to hear that you had a better experience. However, I have
heard from several Hungarian-Romanians who have complained of hostile
attitudes, being made to wait several days, not being permitted to make
copies of records, being "supervised" by authorities while researching, etc.
Perhaps it depends on where you go.
Then, too, you mustn't discount the fact that so far Romania has not
permitted filming of their records, which means research must be done
on-site.

A further complication is that records from present-day Romania are
generally difficult to access. Even Hungarians who are Romanian citizens are
discouraged from searching the records.

want.
