Am new to this list, having just found the family name on a list of German Catholics living in Zalaapati in 1771.

Has anyone on this list researched in Zalaapati in that time frame? Would like to learn more. I had previously been researching in the Czech Republic as the earliest documents I had (from 1852) showed that the family came from Bohemia; they must have gone from Zalaapati to Bohemia at some point.

I am researching the MORSTAIN name. Names in the 1771 list were:

Joannes Morstain & his wife, Catharina Cerenyei and their son (Joannes Morstain); brother Leonardus Morstain and someone's mother/grandmother named Elisabetha Tibolt.

Any help appreciated. I've not been able to tie them to the Peter Marstein/Morstain who was in the US by 1852, but assume they're related somehow. Thank you,

Heather Morstain
