I, too, would like to know about books regarding Hungary, in the form of
historical fiction (to make the reading easier), history, anthropology, culture,
historic events. For me, I am mostly interested in the life at the turn of the
century and mid 1800's as my grandparents came here in 1900. What was their
childhood like back then? What did their parents live through? I have certainly
learned alot by reding everyone's comments here over the past 5 years! This
is truly a history lesson. Thank God for all of you who pass on the knowlege.
I also remember the wave of immigrants in 1956 as I was growing up in
Bridgeport, CT. and many new immigrants came to live there. My grandmother praised
Nixon for bringing Hungarians here then. I have seen a few books for sale on
ebay but they went sky high. Does anyone have good titles that I could find in an
inter-library loan?
Thanks to all you good people I found out where my grandparents were from. I
investigated in the opposite end of the country. So I, too, am interested in
the area of the north (Encs) villages and north east near the Ukraine.
Thanks to all.
