Hi Elizabeth,
the answer to your (last) question is yes.
Gelanica (today Gelnica) was Gölnicbánya, county seat of (old)
Szepes county. Back in 1911 its population was 3833; out of which were
2095 Germans, 1098 Slovaks and 606 Hungarians.
Prakovce was a village nearby; in Hungarian it was called Prakfalva,
population 632 in 1911 and they list its ethnicity in this order:
Slovak, German, Hungarian - without breaking further down.
