With regard to Hungarians giving their children middle names, my husband,
born Jan. 3, 1930, in Budapest, was given the first name of Zoltan and the middle
name of Michael. Although he was descended on his mother's side from the
GHIKA family, which was a royal family of Moldavia and Wallachia during the 17th,
18th and 19th centuries, I doubt that that had any influence over his having a
middle name.
