I am trying to confirm that Maria Fekesi/Fekese is the mother of my wife's
grandfather. Fekesi/Fekese was Maria's maiden name and I am not sure of the
spelling as the Greek Catholic Church records for Balsa, Hungary seem to have the
spelling both ways.
She gave birth to Andras (hopefully my wife's grandfather) in 1891/1890.
Andras' death certificate says 1890 and the church records say 1891.
Maria's husband's name was Mihal Dzil for a 1888 birth and Mihaly Dzil for
the 1891 birth.
There is a Mihaly Zdill for a 1881 birth and a Mihaly Zill for a 1884 birth.
All of these births were recorded in the records for the Greek Catholic
Church in Balsa, Hungary. The last name in the U.S. was spelled Zdill
The spelling variations are a bit confusing to me. I hope that someone can
help. This is the best lead we have had to find the identity of my wife's
great grandparents.
