1 pkg dry yeast 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup scalded milk 3/4 cup butter melted
4 cups flour 3 Tbsp raisins (optional)
3 large eggs 1 whole egg beaten to brush tops of bread
1/2 cup sugar
Scald milk and cool to likewarm, dissolve yearst in milk. Pour yeast and milk mixture into bread machine,
add approximately half of the flour, then add the eggs (room temperature) and melted butter while slightly warm, and the remaining flour. Turn on the bread machine to the dough setting. Once the mixture begins to resemble dough you may add the salt, sugar, and raisins. Allow the machine to complete the dough making process but not to bake the bread. Remove the dough from your machine and cut into two equal parts. Roll it out to 1/2 inch thickness and spread nut, poppy seed, or lekvar filling on the top. Form into two loaves and let them rise under a towel until about double in size. Brush tops with beaten egg after it has risen and bake 45 minutes at 375 degrees.

Subject: Hungarian List Bread Question
Julie,
I saw your post on the Hungarian List about you using a bread machine to make Hungarian bread. Do you have a recipe for this? I would love to try it. I have a bread machine but I do not have a receipe for Hungarian bread. Appreciate anything you could send to me.
Thanks.
Barb
