Hungarian (Magyar) speaking SZE'KELY people ( in English:Seklers) have been
in the Carpathian highlands in Transylvania (Erde'ly) even before the
Hungarians came in around 890. After WW I. this region was given to Rumania
by the French/British victors.
Ever since that time they been persecuted by the Rumanian majority. In the
1970 for example over 50 of their villages were bulldozed by the Satinets
regime.
