Hi Szandi,
This is a Slav word. A Polish aunt by marriage and a Ruthenian aunt used to
tease each other with this word. During those times it was said with humor
and I got the impression the translation may be "queen", such as in one
having a noble bearing, or perhaps just an affectation of one. At other
times I thought it might also be a sign of respect since it was used
affectionately when addressing one another, in lieu of using their given
names.
