Subject: Fw: [HUNGARY-L] Magyszollo, Hungary is Nagyszollo
Date: Sat, 28 Dec 2002 14:20:39 -0700
Joe,
Thanks for replying to my inquiry. Yes, it does appear that the Ellis Island
immigration record was incorrect-Magyszollo is Nagyszollo. I looked up
Nagyszo'llo' in Encarta and found that there is a village in No'gra'd
Hungary, which is Lattitude 47 degrees 58 seconds North, Longitude 19
degrees 27 seconds East, or about 50 km NE of Pest. My recollection is my
family came from Budapest, so this is close enough to be a match.
Do you know where I can find information about Nagyszollo?
Also, the manifest for Kaiserin Augusta Victoria is not viewable on the
Ellis Island website. Any ideas about where I may find the manifest? I
have not tried NARA so any suggestions would be most helpfull.
Thanks, Tim

Dear list:
Hope you can help me locate the place of residence of my Great Grand father
Karoly Papp. The Ellis Island immigration record listed it as Magyszollo,
Hungary. Date of arrival July 14, 1906. Where can I find Magyszollo, Hungary
on a map? atlas?
Your help is most appreciated.
