I haven't had any luck in researching my wife's grandfather Andrew Zdill.
But in the same town in Ohio there was a Mihaly and Maria Zdill. I believe
Andrew and Mihaly were relatives perhaps brothers. I have the information
available on the Ellis Island site for Mihaly. I know he disappeared from
the Youngstown, Ohio City Director after 1905. There is not a record of his
death. His wife Maria died in 1917 as a widow. The only information that I
have from Youngstown concerning Mihaly Zdill/Zdil is his marriage
Certificate. "Mike" Zdil and Maria Pasha were married Sept. 15, 1903 in
Youngstown, Ohio by Rev Mstor Voliachy a Greek Catholic priest. Both "Mike"
and Maria are listed as being born in Hungary. "Mike" Zdil's parents were
listed as "Mike" Zdil and Dora Leovateh ( handwriting is hard to understand).
Maria Pasha's parents are listed as Jor Pasha and Susii Warsh or Narsh
(handwriting difficult to make out). I am confused because on Maria's
headstone the word "Kiss" is written in very large letters. I thought her
maiden name was Kiss. I am hoping that someone on this list might have the
Zdill/Pasha/"Leovateh"/Warsh/Narsh connection that will help with my
research.
