Daragó József üdvözlõ beszéde
a Magyarok Világszövetsége
megalakulásakor
this was:
The opening  speech by Joseph Darago at the inaugural of the Hungarian World
Alliance.

Thanks for the information yesterday about Daragó Jósef giving the opening
speech at the First Hungarian World Alliance meeting. I found information
about the Hungarian World Alliance and other interesting information about
our heritage in an online book by Susan M. Papp. This online book can help
all of us understand our history and what our family went through.

The following is from Chapter 2 of the book:

HUNGARIAN AND THEIR COMMUNITIES IN CLEVELAND

In a more dramatic effort to bring attention to the injustices of
Trianon, Hungarian-Americans, in conjunction with the Hungarian World
Alliance, sponsored a transatlantic flight in 1930, on the tenth anniversary
of the treaty. The historic trip took place on July 15, 1930 from Harbour
Grace, Newfoundland to Budapest on a non-stop flight of twenty-six hours. The
plane was called Justice for Hungary and was piloted by George Endresz and
Alexander Magyar. The flight occurred in the days of the first transatlantic
flights and was the first plane crossing the ocean which had radio contact
with both the starting and landing aerodromes.
