Thank you to Joseph for letting me know what the clippings meant.. It seems they are recipes.. My Great Grandparents owned and ran thier own resteraunt in Lake Station IN so recipes fit in perfectly... Thanks a bundle Joseph....
Anyway did anyone have an idea of where to get my old letters translated.. some are as far back as 1928... not very good shape for scanning...
Also two other Questions
bottom of one letter say a cim. Veisz Jozsef bodrog? Keresztur? Zeplin Megye
I can't find that town anywhere..
and would English translate Veisz to wiess? I think the letter maybe from her Grandparents or relative from her mothers side....
Thanks again

Can someone tell me what this says:

Sorry I don't know how to do the accents:

A kelkaposztat mossuk meges vagjuk apro darabokra. Tegyyuk fel sos vizbe fozm, nehany darab kockara vagott burgonyaval.Rantast keszitunk, amelyben egy cikk foghagymat is piritunk, hideg vizzel feleresztjuk, soval, borssal fuszerezzuk.

Nagy jo a kelkaposzta gesztenyevel s, ilyenkor nemteszunk foghagymat es burgonyat, hanem tisztitott gesztenyet fozunk es tejfelt adunk hozza..

I have about ten clippings from newspapers and about 20 letters from My great grandparents can someone give me an idea where to get them translated... I pray all these new letters and all will help and give me some Clues...I have about five last names for her and just cannot piece together which was her name for Hungary... Any help would be wonderful...

Hi
When I first got started in genealogy a few years ago a very nice lady by
the name of Cathy Deschu sent me pages of information and among the
treasured pages were
How to put the accents (I think they are called umlats - not sure) over
letters

hold down your alt key and type in the numbers for the following:
132
142
148
153
129
154
225

I have it on a large sticky note on my computer - I know I thanked her back
then but another thank you to Cathy - I still have it all and refer to it
often.

Have fun

Hi

Try using the numbers on the right side of your keyboard -- the calculator!
It will work. :-)

This method will ONLY work if your Num Lock is turned on. The Num Lock key
is usually located at the top of the number key pad or in that general area.
When it is on, a light should normally be lit.

Back in June, I posted instructions for installing the Hungarian Keyboard on
a computer and/or using the ALT + number pad method. Take a look:
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/HUNGARY/2002-06/1024765380

If the link does not work, you can access the Hungary-L archives:
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/hungary
and choose June 2002. The message is about 1/2 of the way down and titled:
[HUNGARY-L] Hungarian Keyboard and special letters or characters by Suzanne
