Thanks to all who replied to my Kis inquiry.
The documents which show "Kis-Batiz" are Greek Orthodox Church documents from
Batiz, Szatmar (now Botiz, Satu Mare) so putting all the answers I received
together I have come to the conclusion that the Kis in this instance refers
to an area in or around Szatmar Batiz and is called such (Little Batiz) to
better define the location.
