Subject: [HUNGARY-L] Question re Naturalization
I just found my ggrandparents on the Ellis Island records. It shows a
record
of them coming into New York on June 7, 1897 and states, surprisingly,
that
they were US citizens. I can't find any other record of their entry into
the
US for the first time. My questions:
How many years did you have to live in the US before you could apply for
citizenship? and
The Ships record says that the ship of travel was the Aller. However, when
I
bring up the manifest, it is for the Barbarossa. Has anyone else had
incorrect records and if so, is there a way to access the records of the
Aller?
Thanks much, Rita
