I am researching my wife's family. We know very little. My wife's mother's
parents died when my mother-in-law as a small child and then she was adopted.
I am hoping that some kind soul on this list might be able to help us.
This what we do know:
My mother-in-law's father was Andrew Zdill. He was born on September 8, 1890
somewhere in Hungary. He died in 1920. Her Mother was Hegedus Ligo Zdill.
She was born about 1895 in Hungry. She died in 1915. Both parents
immigrated to Youngstown, Ohio. Andrew worked at the Youngstown Sheet and
Tube steel company as a millwright helper. Andrew's father was Joseph Zdill.
I am not sure if Joseph immigrated to Ohio.
I do not know when Andrew and Hegedus immigrated. Death certificates and
newspaper articles offer variations of the spelling of the family name as
Sdill and Zdie.
