Hi Barbara,
I think you will find the whole family on the Ellis Island Database under
the spelling "Osztercsill".
According to the manifest, they were from the town of Nagyszredistye. This
village is in the Banat region, now within the borders of Serbia, I believe.
LDS has microfilms of some of the church records (filed under Kudritz in the
film catalog), though only through 1852.:
