Dear István;
Thank you for taking the time to translate the note. I
translated it to the best of my knowledge but was not 100% sure of its
contents. I found the article through a search on the internet on my
name which is the same as my fathers and my grand fathers. The pilot in
question was my father . My mother was the tail gunner on that flight to
Bari and my sister was in a potato sack . My father had told me that
there were more than 17 people in that bomber he flew out from the
airport in Papa. They all I believe returned to Hungary. We stayed in
Rome. I was born in the Hungarian Academy in Rome at Via Guilia.
I don't know who Soos Geza was do you have any idea.? I have
attached the location I found the article below.

Thank you again!!!!! It was wonderfully exciting to find a family
history that I knew about connected to other people!
Domokos
PS my mother was born in Veszprém and lived as a child in Balton Almade
during the summers!

Hi Domokos,
I'm not a professional translator but here are my translation:
"Desperation of Dr Geza Soos is clearly see from his part of the
resistance.
After the governor's failured try to get out Hungary from the war, the
office and the Hungarian Independence Movement which was behind it send
him
(Dr Soos) and flying officer Domokos Hadnagy to Italy which was
liberated
from under fascist dictatorship to try to clear the Allies' conditions
of
capitulation and to protect from a siege the capital. Cause of the bad
weather instead of Rome they had to land in Bari. At first the English
catch
them, whose didn't allow them to meet the more opened americans for
weeks
and then this meeting happened was too late, Budapest was already under
siege. What a disillusion was for them! Cause they risked their life
when
stolen a german marked airplane from the military airport of Papa anbf
flought over German lines and fly into the anglosaxon controlled area.
Dr
Geza Soos' activity in the resistance ended with this failure."

Can any one help me with the attached translation?
Dr. Soos Géza elszántsága az ellenállásban játszott szerepébõl is
egyértelmûen kitûnik. Miután a kormányzó 1944. október 15-i kiugrási
A rossz idõ miatt Róma helyett Bariban kellett leszállniuk.
Dr. Soos Géza ellenállási tevékenysége ezzel a kudarccal ért
véget.
Thank you
