recently we were asked;
<< What is the "nak" ending mean on the names of the parents? >>
In the Magyar language prepositions are added onto the nouns. There is a rule
that the vowels a,á,o,u belong together and so do e,é,i,ü,ö therefore there
are always two of them to make the match.
e.g.
Ház house
házban in the house
tej milk
tejben in the milk
-nak or -nek means "to" .........Maria szuletett Janosnak= Mary was born to
John
