Hello all!

I am new to this list and thought I would post my interests. My surname is Bako and I'm interested in learning about the origin of the name. I was led to believe the name
actually meant 'hangman' in Hungarian many, many years ago. My family is from the town of szentgotthard on the Austrian border.

Does anyone have any info on the surname? I would appreciate any information at all!
