I asked them for help way back in 1980 when I first started.
I wrote to the Hungarian Embassy in Washington DC for
any help. I told them my fathers name and village he came
from. In return I received a copy of my fathers birth certificate,
his brothers birth and death certificates and their mothers
birth and death certificate.
And I also received the address of my cousin whom I didn't
know and asked me to please have her do any further research I might
need because they really didn't do that sort of
thing.
All this was before I discovered the FHL.
They were very gracious and didn't charge anything, just not
to ask for any more help. Needless to say I didn't but I was
very grateful for what they HAD done for me. Marlo
