I am at a stand still in my search and am getting extremely frustrated.
Maybe you can help me. I don't have alot to go on, yet to me I have
something. My grandparents came from Budapest in the late 1800's or early
1900's (this is all my father can tell me) My grandmother's name was
Elizabeth (Garanyi)Kovach, born Sept 18, 1878, Died Aug. 28 1971, Grandpa
was Stephen Kovach. I know they settled eventually in Meadville PA. No idea
if my grandpa had brothers or sisters either. My father was born in
Dusquene Pa in 1923. How can I try and locate the ship they came in or the
port they came thru. I feel like I am going around in circles. My dad
remembers very little and my uncles that are still alive won't give me
information. I know that at some point the "H" was dropped from our name.
I do have grandpa's SS#. I will be going to the LDS Library this coming
weekend, but have no idea what to look for. Can you please give me some
idea?
