Subject: Bremen Shipping Records

I just received my grandfather Declaration of Intention and
it lists that he immigrated from Bremen in April of 1906. I
think I remember reading somewhere that the Bremen lists
were destroyed in 1944 by bombing of the port. Can someone
enlighten me? Am I correct in thinking that these lists are
destroyed and that I should not spend time trying to find my
grandfathers passenger records. Any help would be very much
appreciated.
