Carol,
Apparently you did not see the original posting, only my reply. In my reply I've
deleted the URL from Crystal's posting.
To clarify the "no advertising" policy, it is not I, but the general mailing
list members are the ones objecting to polluting the list with commercial
advertising. Sending unwanted advertising to a list of e-mail addresses is
called "spam". If we allow one to advertise, then we would have to allow
everybody to advertise on the list. Do you see the problem? Rootsweb has an
automatic "spam" prevention program in place and there are many attempts that is
intercepted by the software, unknown to the members. Being the list owner, all
those attempts come to my attention, because the software sends a notice to me
each time.
As to Mr. Game's question, the only signature I've seen on his mailing was:
<felix>. I have hundreds of e-mail messages crossing my computer daily, it is
possible that I've missed some "advertising", I apologize for that. My intention
is to keep the list free of "junk mail" so that we can concentrate on the
original purpose of the list, which is, genealogy research, related to Hungarian
ancestry.
