For those who wanted to know if and how we could obtain CPR records. This
was the response I recieved this morning. It doesn't look at all promising.
Sorry Folks.

Dear Ms.Mack,

This refers to your request for information concerning your grandfather,Carl
Weishaupt.

The employment records for this time period are not held in the
Archives department. These records are in the custody of the
Canadian Pacific Railway Pension department which no longer has the
required resources to research historical staff record data, except
in cases involving humanitarian grounds - for example for medical
purposes.

We regret any inconvenience this may cause you and are sorry that
we cannot assist you in your search for this information.

Yours sincerely,

Stephen Lyons

Subject: CPR records

To whom it may concern,

I was wondering why the records of your past employees are not avaible to
those who request them?
My grandfather, Carl Weishaupt came to Grayson/Melville, Sask, Canada in
1910 and worked for the CPR. He has since died, as of `1956 and I for one
would like to have a record of what he did on the railway, what the pay was
like, hours etc.
This I consider is a part of my heritage and a right not only to me but to
generations that follow me as well.
If the archives do not have these records then were do you suggest I get
them from? I most certainly would like to see them.

Thank you so much!
God Bless
Shelley Mack
