Thank you all for your responses. Now that I have the village, is anyone
familiar with the area? I'd like a little history of that area
specifically. Should I contact the church for a 1894 birth record? Which
church? Was Gagyalso large enough to have it's own church, and if so did
any records survive all the wars?
What was life like from 1890 to 1912? I have read a little Hungarian
history. Do you have any suggestions for further reading?
About 6 months ago someone was searching for information about a Hungarian
midwife in Youngstown, OH. We never corresponded, nor did I keep the post
(it may even have been a different forum). If anyone sees the query,
please forward this. I MAY have some of the information being sought.
Relatively,
Pat Green
