Both Mary and Magton are correct that you can order the films through the
Family History Center of the LDS Church and do the research yourself. There
certainly is a thrill in finding the information yourself. However, there
are some who find it difficult to get to a FHC or choose to use the services
of a more experienced genealogist. When I offerred my services it was in
response to the original note that referred to the rates charged by the
Hungarian Embassy and the length of time they take in responding to
requests.
You can refer to my webpage, "The Genealogist" at
http://www.xcelco.on.ca/~genealog/
for suggestions on conducting research in Hungarian records.
Also, when looking for the 'phone number of Family History Centers be sure
to look under the proper name of the church in the White Pages or Yellow
Pages under
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The
or in the yellow pages under the same name. You will probably not find it
under its nickname, Mormon Church
You may also find the information through their webpage at
http://www.lds.org
Good luck on your research. If I can be of assistance to those who need it,
drop me a line.
