to Joseph Nemeth:

My grandfather (B: 1875), great grandfather (B: 1842) and great great
grandfather (B: 1813) are all named Mihaly fejer Varga. All are from
Vegardo, Zemplem County, Hungary.

I've been told that the fejer in their name means they were serfs on the
land of a "minor nobility" by the name of Fejer.

What can you tell me about Fejer in Vegardo, Zemplem County Hungary?

Also, my great great great Grandfather seems to be the son of Andreas
Varga and Maria Kis. Andreas Varga does NOT have the fejer before his
last name. He does have Jr after his last name. Andreas Varga senior
does not have the fejer in his name, either. Could it be possible that
it was the Mihaly Varga born in 1813 that was a serf?

And, I notice that you have listed a "Kis" as a nobility in your book.
My ggg grandfather, Andreas Varga, married Maria Kis who was born around
1781. Her death, at 37, is recorded in the Greek Catholic records of
Vegardo, Hungary. Is she related to the nobility in your book?

Mary B
