Subject: [HUNGARY-L] To answer many request

Hi again to all,
Due to many request I figure this will be the
easiest way to help all because all the regions
are covered.
1. go to http://www.nara.gov
2. click on Regional records left side of
screen down aways
3. scroll down to and click on Quick list
etc. a long name
This page will list all the regional offices with
the e-mail address, fax # and the states served by
that office along with the physical address. You
can request by e-mail sending along every thing
you know and most important is the year of
naturalization if possible and DO NOT forget your
full mailing address as they will answer by snail
mail. Mine came back with 3 possible names of
which was the one I was looking for. Instruction
will come with the possible names as what to do
next. My grandfather was a tailor by trade and
only one name was listed as a tailor. I knew he
was a tailor because that is what was listed in
the 1900 census. When I got the copy of his papers
they also sent the
Intent to Naturalize or something like that. It
was worth the 10 bucks. They don't charge you
until you send back the correct name so if nothing
shows up, nothing spent. and just try again. If
you have the address where they lived at the time
of naturalization you can be sure you are sending
it to the correct office. I had the address where
they lived in 1900 and now I have the address of
where they lived in 1880. The papers came back
with white print on a black background. I took
them, 3 pages, to Kinko's and they reversed the
pages to black on white, much easier to read, and
had 3 copies made of each page. They told me there
that it is done due to the fact that they are
official papers.
