Lipot = Leopold . I think Lipot is the Slovak version and Lipud is the Hungarian,
as my great grandfather Leopold Silhavy has Lipot on his gravestone in Sabinov,
Slovak Republic, but his death certificate from 1900 which is written in
Hungarian has it spelled Lipud.

Don't know how much that helps, but thought I would mention it just in case 8-)
