If you are not sure if the couple married here or in Europe, I would look for
her under both names. But my grandmother came over from Hungary as a single
woman and I found her maiden name on the passenger list. But since I was
looking for both names, I also found her future brother-in-law on the same
ship! Perhaps he escorted her or perhaps they met on the ship - can't say
for sure at this point.
