Hello All:

Anyone interested in the history of the work done by Walloons and Huguenots for the Hatfield Chase/Chace area with Cornelius Vermuyden might be interested to know that the material is held in two universities:

The History of the drainage of the great level of Hatfield Chase in the counties of York, Lincoln and Nottingham by George Stovin [X.322/8123 Woolwich] reproduced from the original (?) in the Manuscripts Department,
University of Nottingham Library (Hatfield Chase Corporation Papers, HCC911)

The publisher was the University of York YO1 RDD and they can be reached by
"The Library, c/o The Librarian, University of York, Helsington YO1 5DD, publ.
1975

The second collection is being held at the University of Nottingham in their Manuscripts Department and is entitled "Hatfield Chase Corporation 2nd Deposit 1626-1973" published by University of Nottingham, University Park, Nottingham NG7 2RD - they hold the archives of the Hatfield Chase Corporation.

I would advise anyone interested to write or call first to make sure the collection is indexed and that it is free for your access.

If anyone cares to do this, I would be most grateful if you would advise me.
