Would anyone know if the surnames LARGE and LEGRANDE would have any
connection? Both are Huguenot names found in Ireland. Some of the Irish
Large researchers assume they are the same because in English they are
similar, much like some LeRoi supposedly became King in Ireland. I have not
yet seen LARGE and LEGRANDE used or confused in Irish records, and I doubt
that they could be the same families. I have seen Large from France stay
Large in Ireland and the same with LeGrande. From my knowledge of French, I
would not think that they would be used interchangeably in France either.
Also, would anyone know if names with "larg---" like Largent or Largeou
would be related to just plain " Large?" Thanks for any help! Deborah Large
